You will serve as an INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST of SURFACE WARFARE SCHOOLS COMMAND. .

Duties

You will assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of the curricula content review and reengineering modernized delivery projects for rating training. You will validate and input project Plan of Action and Milestones data which details timelines by rating for review of Learning Objectives, Job Duty Task Analyses, billet requirement data, and curricula. You will track introduction of restructured curricula and assesses modernized delivery project success You will provide comprehensive data used to develop transition status briefs, assessment briefs, and other strategic communication products and reports for presentation. You will review and track Statements of Work (SOW) and delivery schedules for content reengineering contracts, reviews products delivered under contract and coordinates corrective action, when required for final validation.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Implementing curricula processes and procedures in accordance with training plans; 2) Creating course materials based on training requirements; 3) Developing corrective action to resolve curriculum management issues; and 4) Developing briefs and reports for presentation on training status. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess s a 4 year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position. My course work included study in at least four of the five following areas: 1) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. 2) Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. 3) Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/ educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. 4) Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. 5) Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software.
