Duties

You will troubleshoot high-pressure piping systems and determines need for modification and/or repair to insure proper and safe operation. You will determine the proper slant, slope, fall, or level of installation to provide for proper flow, drainage, and sanitary operating conditions. You will utilize safety practices and procedures by following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. You will demonstrate the use of plumbing tools and equipment to make installations/repairs. You will interpret blueprints, charts and sketches to install or modification high pressure piping systems. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Requirements

  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a PIPEFITTER without more than normal supervision performing: 1) Installing and modifying new and existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment; 2) Planning, laying out and installing piping systems and equipment from blueprints, sketches, etc.; 3) Repairing leaks, clearing stoppage, and making changes for proper functions. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
