About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the 780th MI BDE, 781st MI BN responsible for developing, overseeing, and administering the multiple security programs, including INFOSEC, INDSEC, PERSEC, OPSEC, and Security Awareness Training.
Duties
Develop Brigade Security policy, regulations, and procedures to assure compliance with requirements
Conduct inspections and staff visits to subordinate activities to assess the security posture, identify problem areas, and recommend solutions
Develop and manage multiple security programs, including Information Security, Industrial Security, Personnel Security, and Operations Security
Develop and manage Security Education and Training (SEAT) for the organization
Provide technical and administrative supervisor to subordinates engaged in Security administration work
Counsel and advise on work performance to ensure acceptable quantity, quality, and timeliness
Requirements
- Position is considered KEY and the essential nature of the position prohibits the position from being vacated during a national emergency or mobilization and cannot be filled by Ready Reservists or military retirees with recall obligations.
- Position is designated Mission Essential and the incumbent must be able to remain on duty or make every effort to report to duty on time during emergency and/or crisis situations.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 15% or less.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- Must be able to obtain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) certification within the first two years of employment.
- Subsequent Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) certifications must be completed one per year thereafter in the order mandated by the SPeD certification sequence and/or as mandated by the position supervisor or organization leadership.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience managing multiple Security programs (i.e., Industrial Security, Personnel Security, Operations Security, Information Security, and Security Education and Training); and conducting inspections and staff visits to assess the security posture, identify problem areas, and recommend solutions to deficiencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
