This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Human Capital Management Division (HCMD), Talent Acquisition and Classification Branch (TACB). The selectee will serve as a Human Resources (HR) Assistant and provide program support for TACB.
This is a career ladder position requiring the incumbent to perform progressively more independently on a gradual basis leading to the full performance level.

Qualifications
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. It is available for your review on the OPM web site at OPM qualification standards Specialized experience: is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Candidates for the GS-06 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-05) grade level in the Federal service.
Candidates for the GS-07 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-06) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience in the following areas: (1) Performing support work in human resources including answering inquiries, handling sensitive or confidential material, providing information pertaining to a variety of administrative matters, reviewing documents for completeness and obtaining additional information as required; (2) Utilizing word processing and automated systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based systems; (3) Organizing and coordinating work and working independently and as part of team; (4) Applying Office of Personnel Management (OPM) policies, guidelines, standards and procedures; and (5) Entering data into various automated human resources systems, and reviewing personnel action requests for accuracy.
