You will serve as a Radioactive Material Manager in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department, Nuclear Facilities and Waste Engineering Division, Code 2380 of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will serve as the Shipyard's expert in all matters relating to the transport of radioactive material. You will review or establish procedures for shipment of radioactive materials. You will determine increased staffing and/or training necessary to carry out the directives. You will serve as a policy advisor to the Division Head on all radioactive material matters. You will plan work schedules and priorities, make work assignments, evaluate performance of subordinates, and advise, counsel, and instruct employees on both work and administrative matters. You will direct the financial operations of the Radioactive Material Traffic Office.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, preparing, coordinating, and administering controls over radioactive material shipments related to the conduct of nuclear work.
