The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist (Instructor) within AMA-520.

Duties

Incumbent serves as Plans and Programs Branch Manager with overall responsibility for management and technical direction of the branch. The Branch supports the National Air Traffic Training Program. These functions are carried out by a highly trained staff of air traffic controllers, instructional systems specialists, administrative and contract personnel.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Must submit a completed FAA Form 3330-43: Rating of Air Traffic Experience
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J (FG/GS-14) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience includes: Experience leading people and/or programs in an Air Traffic Control Facility (Terminal/Tower/EnRoute); experience overseeing administrative programs; experience directing the work activities of subordinates; experience managing large projects that affect multiple functional lines; experience collaborating with a variety of governmental organizations and labor unions; and/or experience preparing responses to issues/inquiries related to Air Traffic Training, etc.ANDQuality Ranking Factor (QRF): Well-qualified applicants for this position will have experience as a CPC (or higher in the AT Pay Plan) in professional air traffic control functions in field level facility levels (10 and above).Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement. Applicants should provide examples of specialized experience in their work history.
