The position serves as a Ethics Program Specialist located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division (JMD), Departmental Ethics Office (DEO), Justice Management Division (JMD), and assists in carrying out responsibilities of DOJ's ethics program. This position is to execute duties related to the planning, implementation, and assessment of duties of the ethics program and the electronic financial disclosure system.

The duties and responsibilities of a Ethics Program Specialist generally include, but are not limited to, the following: 1) Provides expert level expertise to management and employees in preparing requirements and criteria for complex or high value projects or programs. 2) Advises Department of Justice organizations and components on confidential financial disclosure and provides expert level consultation on improvements to their program facilitation. 3) Develops and implements administrative program management policies. 4) Provides analysis and expertise in the assessment and improvement of ethics program effectiveness or the improvement of complex processes and systems. 5) Researches and identifies complex program issues or problems impacting program initiatives in major agency organizational components.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
  • You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or trial period.
  • Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Ethics Program Specialist, (GS-0301-13/14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to. Specialized Experience GS-13: Specialized experience is defined as: Utilizes databases and other tools to analyze and report on ethics program data; Collects relevant information from many varied sources; AND participates in developing, implementing, and reporting on administrative ethics policies. Specialized Experience GS-14: Specialized experience is defined as: Conducts and oversees complex management studies of the ethics programs; Analyzes collected ethics information from many varied sources; AND Develops policies, procedures and provides expert level advice on administrative requirements.
