This position works under the Director of the Behavioral Health Lab in supporting and coordinating the activities for the Behavioral Health Lab (BHL) staff. This position administers standardized tools, develops and refines summary report, and serves as a liaison between BHL and Mental Health locally as well as staff at other facilities. The duties of this position are both clinical and administrative in nature.

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties include but may not be limited to: Researches and analyzes problems, issues, or program requirements for the VISN 4 BHL Program. Researches and analyzes administrative issues, determining pertinent issues and collecting relevant information from a variety of sources. Extracts and assembles information from various sources, conducting analyses and developing reports and presentation. Train psychology technicians hired for BHL clinical program on conducting structured assessments, on the BHL software, on local procedures, and on offering services based on assessment outcome. Evaluates BHL software utilization among clinicians and determines training and tablet needs. Assists, directs, and completes special projects. Plans, develops, coordinates, and assists the BHL Director in administering an effective and efficient administrative and support function for the BHL: files and forms management, correspondence control, and database management. Maintains and disseminates policy statements, regulations, and other reference as needed. Performs a wide variety of record-keeping duties to include updating manuals on policy. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. In order to qualify for this position, you must meet at least one of the following minimum qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-7, in federal service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specific qualifying specialized experience for this position (which should be documented on your resume) is experience utilizing knowledge of scientific terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of mental illness and psychology concepts in order to effectively communicate with patients and staff members; proficiency in the use of Microsoft software for designing and maintaining databases as well as maintaining calendars and scheduling; experience monitoring, extracting, and analyzing data and obtaining printouts and reports; and experience planning, scheduling, and tracking to structure and monitor the effective and efficient execution of projects. OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Successfully completed one of the following: (a) Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or (b) two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or (c) an LL.B. or J.D. if related, to this position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study; if that number cannot be obtained from the transcript, 18 semester hours will be considered as one full academic year of graduate study. OR COMBINATION: Possess equivalent combinations of specialized experience and graduate education to fully meet the requirements of this position. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required such as carrying and lifting of both light items and medium-weight items such as computers and chairs. Work is primarily performed in a typical office environment.
