Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:
As a Child Support Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Child Support Services (OCSS),to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Supporting the project officer with providing technical assistance, consultation, and advice to grantees to improve grant performance via conference calls, onsite visits, and through planning and conducting conference workshops.
Analyzing proposed initiatives and/or projects to provide feedback on potential impact on programs, goals, and objectives.
Work with lead project officer to coordinate with and solicits ideas from others in the child support enforcement field to develop recommendations for grant funding priorities.
Reviews program literature, results of completed grants, program planning documents, and management focus areas to keep abreast of potential or anticipated program directions, information needs, and areas for program improvement. Assist with developing grant ideas, proposals, plans, etc., recommending approval by management.
Drafting briefing materials, talking points, and reports to and for other staff, ACF leadership and outside organizations.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Qualifications AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.
Basic Qualifications:
A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Transcripts must be provided)
OR
B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Transcripts must be provided)
OR
C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
-AND-
Minimum Qualifications: Must have one-year of specialized experience to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least one year of experience at the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service, performing following task:
Experience working for a Federal, State, Local, or Tribal child support agency.
AND
Two (2) of the following items:
Analyzing child support and/or other social services program operations and implementations.
Monitoring grantee compliance of child support enforcement and/or other social service programs with regulations and performance standards.
Assisting in providing technical guidance to child support enforcement and/or other social service program grantees.
OR
Education: Successful completion of at least 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. You must include transcripts. You must include transcripts.
OR
Combination: Education and experience may be combined to meet the specialized experience requirement. You must include transcripts.
