The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office, a designated Federal entity, whose mission is to promote excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The OIG conducts investigations, audits, evaluations, and other reviews to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency, and to detect and prevent waste, fraud and mismanagement in EEOC programs and operations.
Duties
As the Deputy Inspector General, the incumbent has the primary responsibility for providing overall program guidance, direction and supervision to Audit, Evaluation and Investigation Programs.
Responsible for the internal tracking, follow-up and closure of all OIG findings and recommendations and the preparation of the semiannual report to Congress which summarizes OIG activities.
Review all audit, evaluation and investigative plans, draft and final reports, and ensures conformance with applicable OIG timeliness, quality and stylistic (formats) standards.
Briefs the Inspector General and senior management officials on all audit (internal and external), evaluation, investigative, administrative, budgetary, and financial matters.
Responsible for oversight and direction of nationwide investigative operations involving allegations of criminal activity, fraud, waste and abuse, and other misconduct within EEOC's programs and operations.
Represents the Inspector General in conferences and negotiations with Agency officials at all levels and with representatives of the General Accountability Office and other Federal agencies.

- Suitable for Federal government as determined by background investigation.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Confidential Financial Disclosure (OGE Form 450) report will be required.
- Required to apply and maintain a government travel card.
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-1801-15: You must have at least1-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-15 level in a position responsible for senior level management of experience preferably in an Office of the Inspector General that includes experience in audits, evaluations, and/or investigative programs.
And
2. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as having at least one year at the next lower grade level of GS-15 level (equivalent or higher in federal or private sector government experience) and the specialized experience must include, but is not limited to the following duties: 1) planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling an Inspector General's (IG) office functions to include: investigative, evaluations; audit functions and operations); 2) conducting, leading and directing audits, evaluations, or investigations of the most sensitive nature; 3) providing oversight responsibility of evaluations, investigative, or audit functions in an effort to deter fraud, waste, mismanagement and abuse; and 4) developing and implementing policy for the conducting of audits, evaluations, or investigations of outside contractors and inter-agency offices' audits and investigations.
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level.

Education cannot be used as a substitution for Specialized Experience.
