This position is located in Yellowstone National Park, in the Business & Technology Division.

Duties

Serves as the security officer at the park level which has a complex network environment with a large numbers of users and has the responsibility of maintaining the security of the local and wide area networks by consistently enforcing rules of behavior, risk management framework, system maintenance, and hardware updates. Demonstrates a broad working knowledge of the Services policies, processes, and procedures required to support the operations of the Service Desk. Operates Service Desk IT tools, technologies and systems, ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of customer support services. Serves as subject matter expert when required by demonstrating knowledge of a wide variety of IT applications, operating systems, protocols and equipment used with data/telecommunications issues when working with others. Manages customer service performance requirements. Communicates with internal and external customers by conveying information in a logical, concise and organized manner. Researches customer inquiries to identify issues, diagnose problems, and recommend solutions regarding inquiry trends, technologies or process-related concerns. Serves as the Contracting Officers Representative and prepares or oversees preparation of technical statements of work and monitors the progress of the contract. Provides computer resource acquisition management support and oversight of information technology assets.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-09/12/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess at least one or all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) that is IT-related. This experience must include Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates each of the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication and 4) Problem Solving. Specialized experience for this position may include, managing a help desk support office for computer and IT systems; management of local and wide area networks; planning, developing, analyzing, and supervising the implementation of computer based services and applications; providing technical expertise in the development of IT procurement including network design, interfaces with different internet service providers, government entities, and private service providers; configuring and optimizing network servers, routers, and switches; enforcing security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services; installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining customer hardware and software; and support of IT based phone and radio system network integration. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
