The Incumbent provides administrative and clerical support and direct client assistance in the office of the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Programs, HUD/VASH Program.
This position is covered by AFGE bargaining unit. Per the Master Agreement, the AOC will be:
1st AOC: Current permanent Facility (including satellites) employees
2nd AOC: Current permanent VA employees
3rd AOC: All other Status candidates
Duties
Major Duties:
Obtains and enters data from all related programs regarding performance measures, bed days of care, funds obligated and waiting lists.
Provides information to patients, families, and community staff.
Assists with collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of the program's operation and the program's submission of grant applications.
Serves as Control Point Clerk.
Utilizes automated systems to create and/or edit requests, reconcile balances and generate reports to assist in managing fund control points.
Calculates projected expenses for the program and ensures adequate resources are available.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-5 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: performing data entry and data collection to provide information to internal and external customers. Assisting with compiling and tracking data and statistical information. Preparing routine monthly reports. Scheduling programs and events to include developing and maintaining invitation lists. Performing general office work to include answering and responding to phone calls and emails. Knowledge of word processing programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher). OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have the successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level.This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-05. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education.
Typing Proficiency: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show ability to type 40 words per minute.
Drivers License Requirement: A valid driver's license is required as some driving and/or transporting veterans may be required in this position. Incumbent must complete any driver annual training that may be required by the facility in order to drive a government vehicle.
