This position is located in the Executive Office of the President, Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD). The incumbent serves as a Special Advisor reporting to the Chief of Staff responsible for the day-to-day management of administrative operations of the office, executive support to ONCD senior leadership, administrative and program work, planning and organizing special projects, as well as researching or compiling materials for briefings, hearings, speeches, and executive decisions.
Duties
As a Special Advisor, AD-0301-00, your typical work assignments may include the following:
1. Manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the office, planning, and organizing special projects, as well as researching or compiling materials for briefings, presentations, hearings, speeches, and executive decisions.
2. Provides administrative support for ONCD senior leadership in compiling and preparing information and documentation, and making logistical arrangements for meetings and conferences.
3. Plans and organizes events for ONCD senior leadership and other office staff. Prepares briefing papers for meetings and events.
4. Establishes due dates and ensures that staff members are aware of the established time frames and milestones. Keeps the ONCD senior leadership informed of potential problem areas.
5. Participates with other staff members in researching, gathering, and compiling briefing materials, talking point papers, and executive summaries for use at meetings, hearings, and conferences.
6. Handles telephonic and personal contacts with high-ranking officials of the White House and other departments/agencies, the news media, members of Congress, executives from industry, labor organizations, and local governments as well as foreign embassies and missions.
7. Coordinates work of ONCD offices on specific projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff or NCD. Conducts interoffice meetings and phone calls to develop and implement plan of action to achieve objectives.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following:
1. Managing and coordinating administrative affairs and enterprise operations for senior leadership in the areas encompassing cyber policy, legislation, public affairs, and public and private sector engagement.
2. Planning and organizing multiple assignments requiring a high level of discretion and judgment.
3. Researching, summarizing and analyzing data.
4. Developing and delivering a wide variety of written correspondence to include reports, briefings, and presentations.
5. Interacting and communicating with high ranking officials.
