This position is located at US Mint,Headquarters - Protection Directorate. As a Supervisory Police Officer, you will serve as the Deputy Director for Protection with supervisory responsibility for Physical Security and Mint Police; and sharing the direction of all phases of the US Mint Police programs and work.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-15. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Make recommendations, plan, evaluate, develop and manage law enforcement initiatives, physical and personnel security programs; and - Oversees the designing, developing, and installing protective systems and devices to ensure that sensitive information, protection of resources and high-value assets, equipment, and other material is not compromised, sabotaged, stolen, misused, or subjected to malicious mischief or other acts of willful interference; and - Develop and implement policies and procedures and ensuring that the policies and procedures are communicated to all personnel within the unit; and - Manage suitability determination and adjudicating background investigations; and - Design, develop, plan and manage law enforcement training program. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Develop and implement policies and procedures and ensuring that the policies and procedures are communicated to all personnel within the unit; and - Manage suitability determination and adjudicating background investigations; and - Design, develop, plan and manage law enforcement training program. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. This position is designated as emergency essential. The incumbent must be ready and able to deploy as required in support of varied contingencies and under severe and austere conditions. The incumbent may deploy for brief periods during a contingency event. A one year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
