As a Program Manager at the GS-0340-15 level, you will be part of Retirement Services Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for program oversight, control, and execution of the group's operational or support functions. The work involves any aspect of retirement benefits and eligibility for health, life insurance, spousal benefits, etc. payable to retirees.
Duties
Develops program objectives, operations, or allocations for existing functions and new operations.
Collaborates with federal agencies to develop and implement capacity building strategies for effective administration of the federal retirement systems.
Improves communication strategies to inform the staff and other stakeholders about group initiatives and their results.
Identifies existing or potential problem areas, trends, deficient situations, and areas of imbalance.
Executes the administrative and personnel management functions related to the accomplishment of the assigned mission.
Qualifications
For the GS15: You must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing 3 of the 4 following tasks: 1) Evaluating and providing recommendations for agency/government-wide retirement programs; 2) Providing guidance contributing to the overall effectiveness of Retirement Service staff and Federal Retirement programs; 3) Developing communications strategies for release of information and to coordinate common action affecting large groups of customers; and 4) Leading a workforce that involves any aspect of retirement benefits and eligibility for health, life insurance, spousal benefits, etc. payable to retirees. Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS 15 level.
