About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
Serves as a Public Affairs Specialist for the U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER).
Supports the Public Affairs Officer and command senior leadership with interactions with the news media.
Manages and conducts the ARCYBER security review and clearance for public release program for all command elements and in all worldwide locations.
Develops, prepares, and releases public information materials of all types to reach local, regional, state, national, and/or international audiences through the news media, the Internet, or to inform targeted stakeholder audiences.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the news media, international, national, federal, state, and local agencies, and specialized groups and individuals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year probationary period may be required.
- Must undergo and successfully complete an initial and periodic Counter-Intelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- Must pass an initial and periodic urinalysis screening for illegal drug use.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to NSA and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) accredited facilities and networks. [Military External Affairs Division (MEAD) Security In-Processing (SIP) process.]
- Temporary duty travel may be required approximately 10% of the time.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by developing written and visual content to reach local and/or national audiences through various platforms; coordinating the planning and distribution of brochures, pamphlets, publications or digital media based on targeted audiences and command recommendations; developing methods for proper implementation of command information objectives; and conducting interviews and legacy media items.
