The Electronic Health Record Modernization-Integration Office (EHRM-IO) provides program management oversight, infrastructure and system modernization, and legacy system integration to enable health information technology (IT) product installation, and facilitate the adoption of new health It products at VA as they relate to the implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) Modernization system.

Duties

The Executive Director (ED) serves as primary advisor to the VA Secretary and Deputy Secretary. Represents the VA Secretary and Deputy Secretary in a wide variety of situations within and outside the Department and works with the representatives of other Federal agencies and the private sector. Authorized to speak for the VA Secretary and Deputy Secretary, representing his/her point of view, and commits the office and VA to courses of action. The ED will lead the operations of EHRM-IO and be responsible for a myriad of issues including but not limited to: change management, communication, deployment, integration, senior industry advisory panel formation, etc. The ED informs policy supporting VA's Comprehensive Information Technology Plan specifically focusing on Trusted Information Sharing (TIS), interoperability and data sharing between VA system owners, Community Care Provider, external stakeholders and Veterans. Provides input to data strategy and migration plans, TIS policy, and builds support with leadership promoting interoperability and data standardization. Provides executive oversight of the vision, strategy and direction for a shared services organization. Manages relationships with key stakeholders and customers. Ensures program transparency and compliance, timely and accurate processes and reporting, prompt issue resolution, effective internal and external communication and feedback, focus on customer responsiveness, and continuous process improvement. Oversees the development, implementation and management of appropriate cost and performance metrics to ensure optimum quality and efficiency of services provided and use of resources.
