About the Position: This announcement is for a TERM appointment not to exceed 13 months. Duties
Perform inventory of materials to verify items listed match items received.
Identify incoming shipments to determine requirements such as, shelf life and refrigeration needs.
Organize storage operations to maintain a neat warehouse environment.
Determine sequence for the movement of materials to organize incoming shipments for maximum space utilization.
Apply wholesale requisition system procedures to complete shipping documentation.
Inspect incoming materials' packing containers for external damages to determine the condition of shipped goods.
Conduct research to locate purchase/delivery orders to account for delivered items.
Perform operator maintenance on material handling equipment to prevent equipment failure.
Operate material handling equipment to load, unload, and stack boxes, crates, packages and other material.
Utilize equipment such as hand tools, utility vehicles, forklifts, and electric jacks, in accordance with established operating procedures to prevent damage and injury.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

- This position has a requirement to lift up to 70 lbs. (some items weighing over 70 pounds) in the regular performance of duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Fork Lift Operator) without more than normal supervision. Unload packing containers, inspect containers for damage, conduct physical inventory of materials received and authenticate invoices by identifying discrepancies such as incorrect quantity, model, size or color. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Work is performed in open areas, in close quarters, on ramps, and platforms. Incumbent is exposed to injury from falling stock, from handling materials, and from mechanical equipment.
