This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. Duties

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) involved in the removing, installing, troubleshooting, interrogating, overhauling, adjusting, testing, modifying, calibrating, and repairing of complex integrated aircraft pneudraulic systems and equipment on board conventional/nuclear certified aircraft supported by the organization and to provide training to and evaluation of all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military as required in the accomplishment of duties set forth herein. 1. Conducts scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and periodic inspections on all pneudraulically operated systems on/off aircraft in accordance with established procedures. 2. Performs troubleshooting of complex integrated pneudraulic systems of related on/off equipment for assigned and/or transient aircraft to include support equipment. 3. Performs off-equipment maintenance and bench checks to support the repair cycle. 4. Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures to maintain a safe and clean work area. Reviews, verifies and documents aircraft forms, component forms/tags and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to reflect maintenance actions performed on and off equipment. 5. Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training for all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-8200 Fuels Maintenance Systems Family . Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Ability to use a variety of test and measurement equipment, ability to test complete pneudraulic systems. Knowledge of safety and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations and technical orders. Ability to document in aircraft forms/MIS, clean work area and/or job site upon completion of work. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow the incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. 2. The incumbent must obtain and retain the appropriate security clearance level designated for the position. 3. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing as a condition of employment. Drug Test requirement was modified with AFI 90-508, Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program, 28 August 2014; Certified Current 18 December 2015 which supersedes AFI 44-107, 7 April 2010. Positions covered by this SPD must be reviewed for proper "Testing Designated Position (TDP)" coding to comply with the AF Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program (AFI 90-508). Drug testing is a condition of employment. 4. The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from the normal duty station. 5.
