Duties

Provides Marketing Functional services under the general supervision of the Installation, DMWR, Marketing Manager. Duties include determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation, and community awareness of all DMWR programs. Conducts Media relations, commercial sponsorship and overall planning of special events. Conducts media relations with on-post media (Public Affairs Office) and off-post media (print, radio, and television). Serves as representative to community and briefs media on programs and activities and their impact on civilian community. Conducts Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising. Keep track of viable annual events for which to seek commercial sponsorship. Serves as the primary planner and action officer for a variety of recurring and special events, and activities that take place at the installation. Participates in strategic planning initiatives and measures for the success of special events.

Requirements

  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • An on-site writing, proofreading and graphics test will be conducted as part of the interview process. While encouraged, a portfolio will not substitute this requirement.

Qualifications

Standard Qualifications: Demonstrated related work experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Work experience must have been equivalent in complexity, difficulty and responsibility to the next lower pay band level. - IAW AR 215-3, paragraph 2-1, (1), (2), (3) and Appendix B.Work is performed in a typical office setting. Highly Preferred: Applicants meeting Highly Preferred criteria will be forwarded to the Selecting Official before other qualified applicants. - Possess one (1) year of professional experience in program and event marketing, with the ability to develop marketing strategies, sales campaigns, and plan and manage special events - Possess one (1) year of working knowledge and experience in sponsorship, advertising and/or another sales-related field. - Possess one (1) year of professional experience using spreadsheets, databases, and other office software (Microsoft Office or similar) to generate reports & dashboards. - Possess one (1) year of professional experience creating written content and using layout software (Creative Suite or similar) to create flyers, graphics, videos, or other marketing collateral. - Possess one (1) year of professional experience in public speaking and one-on-one sales presentations. - Possess one (1) year of experience managing various forms of social media (to include Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, lnstagram, and website/blog), to engage customers.
