About the Position: Arranges transportation for all recruits and enlistees from the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to the applicable Military Service Reception and/or Training Center located in Seattle, Washington.
Duties
Arrange transportation for all recruits and enlistees from the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to the applicable Military Service Reception and/or Training Center.
Prepare, amend, and revoke transportation orders for all recruits and enlistees assigned.
Assist recruits experiencing unexpected delays, cancellation of flights, hospitalization, absence, or refusal to fly.
Maintain monthly, weekly and daily contact with Service Liaisons for obtaining recruit and enlistee travel with the Commercial Travel Office (CTO).
Conduct monthly centrally billed account reconciliation for all accounts using Commercial Transportation Office (CTO) Reconciliation (Recon Plus) software.
Conduct comprehensive transportation briefing to all recruits regarding the use of meal tickets/checks, travel requirements/limitations, and follow-on transportation.
Ensure that all ground transportation utilized for the movement of recruits is government/Department of Defense approved via the Surface Deployment Distribution Center.
Ensure applicant records and shipping packets are complete before the applicant departs the MEPS.
Coordinate reviews and maintains all new passenger standing route orders (PSRO) from the MEPS to each reception/training center.
Arrange meals, lodging and onward transportation for recruits and enlistees.
Provide monthly transportation reports to higher headquarters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating travel arrangements; and reviewing transportation documents such as invoices to identify discrepancies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, business administration, accounting or other fields related to the position to be filled. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Education
