You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist in the Employee Development and Management Branch of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

Duties

You will ensure the training programs are designed to meet the current and future needs and goals of Naval Research Laboratory. You will consult with all levels of the organization to assist in determining immediate and long term training needs and developmental programs. You will plan, develop, and coordinate special training programs. You will be responsible for forecasting and documenting the training budget for review and approval. You will troubleshoot errors in total workforce management system and utilize the system to pull reports, etc. You will schedule presentation rooms and presenters, prepare presentation rooms, review and update presentation slides for current and accurate information. You will manage tasks in multiple programs running concurrently. You will independently conduct presentation.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience, that includes one year at or equivalent to the GS-01/04 grade level or NO-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; (2) Plan and organize work; and (3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing. In lieu of generalized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or four years leading to a Bachelor's degree

  • A combination of education and experience totaling 100%
