The Project Director - Cross Program Initiatives position is located in the Corporation for National and Community Service, Department of the Chief of Program Operations in Washington, Immediate Office in Washington, DC. The incumbent is responsible for leading collaborative implementation of cross program work including but not limited to streamlining grantmaking process for internal and external customers.

Duties

The position reports to the Deputy Chief Program Officer and works collaboratively across all offices in the CPO department. Direct and coordinate cross program initiatives including but not limited to streamlining grantmaking processes across programs. Align departments in the Chief Program Officer (CPO) unit to manage processes that affect multiple programs and offices. Advance creation and maintenance of procedures and policy for cross program work, including but not limited to the grantmaking process. Maintain and refresh central repositories for all materials. Lead regular review of guidance and resources and monitor utilization for accountability. Manage projects throughout the full life- cycle, including project scope and criteria, schedules, milestones, planning, budgeting, design, development and implementations. Develop, track and report on key performance indicators and metrics to monitor progress towards goals. Keep Chief Program Officer and Deputy Chief Program Officer appraised of barriers, issues, challenges or successes that affect progress on key cross program initiatives. Identify solutions to problems that arise, using sound judgement to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations. Supervises and leads cross program initiatives team. Contributes to strategic planning, budget formulation, and program reporting initiatives, including Congressional Budget Justification. Carries out special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A 2-year probationary period is required for new Federal employees and supervisors.
  • Merit Promotion and internal applicants must submit a SF-50 to verify Status and grade
  • Satisfactory completion of a background investigation.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the mid-range of the NY-3 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: Coordinating, leading and supervising cross program initiatives. Advancing the creation and maintenance of procedures and policy for cross program work. Managing projects throughout the full life-cycle Identifying solutions to problems that arise Using sound judgement to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps VISTA) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume.
