You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTOLLER (SHIPS) in the Production Resources Department, Nuclear Production Manager (C-300N) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will perform the functions of nuclear task packaging to identify and group work, which can be efficiently released and executed together based on the packaging strategy to assemble all necessary supporting information, documentation, etc. You will perform the material management functions to provide one-stop shopping for the mechanic in obtaining all required material to accomplish assigned work on time and in an efficient manner. You will assemble, release, coordinate and track work items designated by the Daily Production Schedule (DPS) with the Chief Test Engineer, Lead Scheduler and Zone Manager. You will interface with Zone Managers to resolve issues for assigned work (TWD issue, schedule start dates, material, references, etc.).

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing nuclear task packaging and identifying work that can efficiently be released and executed together based on packaging strategy; Experience managing material acquisition, storage, issue, hazardous material procedures, kitting and delivery; Experience preventing production delays, scheduling conflicts, and lack of sufficient material and instructions; Experience providing radiological control procedures for the accomplishment of nuclear ship system repair; Experience in nuclear ship systems and the normal progression of work and work authorization process; Experience effectively communicating with all levels of personnel orally and in writing.
