This position is in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Office of Field Operations (OFO), Division of Space and Facilities. As the Space and Facilities Branch Chief, these positions are responsible for the management and supervision of the regional space project management services to all DOL employees outside the National Capital Region.
This position is Supervisory and outside the bargaining unit.
Duties
For 0342-14:
Assesses customer needs and expectations, establishes organizational priorities, evaluates services to improve customer service, and resolves problems that arise.
Expert skills in analysis of problems and the application of sound judgment to make recommendations or decisions for resolution of problems within customers' organizations or the incumbent's office.
Provides leadership and performs the full-range of supervisory responsibilities for subordinate staff.
Directs and oversees the planning, developing, and implementing of DOL programs in the field including acting as a consultant, technical advisor, and outreach coordinator.
Prepares and delivers presentations to groups of agency officials, managers, staff and other organizations on the details of Office of Field Operations programs, processes, and procedures.
Manages nationwide program of consultative, technical, training, outreach, and evaluative services for the Department of Labor agencies, Regional Executive Committees, and employee unions regarding operations for employees at all field-based work sites.

Qualifications
You must meet the "Specialized Experience" to qualify for Branch Chief - Space and Facilities, as described below.
For GS-14: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-14 includes: Broad knowledge of DOL policies, regulations, directives, and BOC program objectives that address current and emerging needs in regional space project management and workplace transformation; Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing to convey recommendations to the agencies serviced; Ability to analyze problems and apply sound judgment in order to make recommendations or decisions for resolution of problems within customers' organizations; Experience in supervising and directing staff and providing critical guidance to officials.
