About the position: This position will be assigned to the Cadet Entertainment, Air Force Academy, CO. This position does include benefits. This position requires an uncommon tour of duty.

Duties

Serves as Cadet Entertainment program manager. Responsible for Cadet Entertainment budget. Oversees use of funds for the Entertainment office. Collaborates with the Cadet Wing Support staff in use of Cadet Club Entertainment budget. Researches, locates, and books Cadet age-appropriate entertainment/recreation activities (Activities may include tail gate parties held at Falcon stadium and other events such as Super Bowl, UFC fights and Fun Runs). Works with other FSS Activities to enhance Cadet events. Prepares entertainment contract information for submission to contract officer. Tracks entertainment/event activity contract status and communicates with Arnold Hall theater lead to ensure tech rider, AV/IT, lighting, sound and support arrangements can be provided to entertainers. Ensures receiving reports are completed timely and proper invoices are complete in accordance with the contract terms. Plans academic year entertainment/recreation programing calendar and budgets for each event. Generates ideas on ways to collect entertainment ideas information from Cadets. Actively participates in Cadet Entertainment programing. Performs research of Entertainment Artists for the purpose of helping keep Cadet Entertainment fresh and properly vetted. Actively aides Cadets in event planning /catering /advertising of events. Purchase gift cards/prizes/catering/etc. Ensures catered items are picked up or delivered as necessary. Coordinates required materials with Marketing. Assists with vendor escorting during events. Aides in the set up/clean-up of events. Works as the volunteer coordinator for Cadet Entertainment events. Manages all other requirements in the activity such as records management, accounting requirements and purchasing requests. Ensures proper documents are completed timely such as BPA/EOMs, after-action reports etc. Supervises entertainment staff and volunteers during events. Performs other related duties as required. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position requires that the incumbent must be able to stand for long periods of time, and move items weighing up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
  • This position requires the incumbent must be able to complete a pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have a valid Drivers license.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience in planning, marketing and executing large entertainment and/or recreational events relevant to the audience. Skill in creating entertainment or service related contracts is preferred. Must have knowledge of budgeting. Must have strong social skills and the ability to communicate with Cadets and Entertainers. Must have experience in communicating through different types of modern social media. Experience in planning/pricing catering menus to provide food and beverages is preferred. Progressively responsible computer experience to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience working with volunteers is desirable. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Must be walk in and around events for extended periods of time. May work outside during inclement weather. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
