Duties

Serves as a supervisor in Defense Logistics Agency Human Resources-HR Information Systems (DHRS-DS). Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of all HR program areas and policies in the planning, developing, testing, implementation, and operation of all automated solutions supporting the J1 mission and its DLA and DoD customers. Plans, directs, coordinates, develops, and implements automated solutions in support of HR systems program areas including but not limited to staffing, classification, employee/labor relations, and associated HR policy. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of subordinate HR specialists (Information Systems) in the design, development, and implementation of various automated solutions for DLA Human Resources and its customers. Identifies the need for new automation within J1, documents requirements, and ensures accomplishment of completion of tasks. Manages and enforces DoD and DLA Information Operations standard methods and procedures for the execution of application development functions. Provide guidance to subordinates and ensure support is provided to team members in all aspects of producing and deploying automation.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory HR Specialist (Information Systems), your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Leading a team of employees in Human Resources in the development and implementation of automated solutions supporting HR program areas including staffing, classification, employee/labor relations, and HR policy. Providing advice and guidance on functional and technical matters related to automated HR systems. Analyzing proposed HR automation systems and/or enhancements to existing systems. Coordinating, testing, and implementation of new automation systems, ensuring all documentation requirements are met. Directing, monitoring, and controlling operations and maintenance of automated HR systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
