This position is located at US Mint,Denver- MANUFACTURING DEPT/Plant Manager CO/Plant Engineering Div CO/MACHINE SHOP SECTION. As a/an Toolmaker, you will manufacture jigs, fixtures, tooling and gauging for in house manufactured parts. To repair, service, overhaul and machine parts for blanking dies.

Duties

As a Toolmaker, you will: Design, fabricate, overhaul, calibrate, and repair tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges, as well as standard types of cutting tools. Design, develop, and repair various types of punches, cutting blades, tools and fixtures for mass production. Produce In House Manufactured (IHM) parts and specialty machine parts. Fabricate and repair blanking die sets, stamping dies, and other special high efficiency dies, carbide dies and components for all denominations of coins. Builds special machines, fixtures, and experimental equipment, occasionally without designs or blueprints, to perform specialized functions associated with the manufacture of coins. Fabricates fixtures and attachments to adapt machine tools to facilitate production of replacement parts for presses and other equipment. Trains and instructs in the use of machines, shop practices, and procedures to lower graded employees.
