You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Public Works Division of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Duties
You will install, repair, maintain troubleshoot, test and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
You will connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
You will develop patterns and lay out, cut, form, join, assemble and install items with combined straight and curved edges ore irregular angles, planes and curves.
You will weld a variety of metals and alloys.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Have a valid Environmental Protection Agency Universal Certification for working with all types of refrigerants at high and low pressures.
Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Installs, repairs, maintains, troubleshoots, tests, and loads new and existing electrical lines, circuits, HVAC systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment; 2) Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings to plan and lay out the routing, type, size, gauge, etc., of electrical lines which support industrial operations; 3) Install air conditioning direct expansion and chilled-water systems, test systems for proper functioning and review and adjust system controls using Direct Digital Control (DDC) computer system; 4) Selects and set up welding equipment and ensure welds meet standards and engineering design drawings and specifications.
