About the Position: Serves as the Records and Information Management Specialist for The Records Management Program for direct reporting unit (DRU), US Army North (ARNORTH), located at Fort Sam Houston, TX. This position is a term position and may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years. This position is obligated. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights.

Duties

Create office record lists for all subordinate units and ensure compliance with policies and rules governing management information requirements through conducting staff assistance visits and inspections. Liaison and point of contact for records management issues between subordinate organizations worldwide. Recommend procedural or policy changes to improve operations. Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-say adminstration of contracts. Manage all printing and copying devices for the organization.

Requirements

  • Incumbent of this position must obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) level security clearance.
  • Incumbent of this position may be required to Travel for Duty (TDY) up to 25% of the time.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 and must pass urinalysistesting, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the efficiency and effectiveness of the Records Management Program operations carried out by administrative personnel, and substantive administrative support. Experience with agency policies, rules and regulations with governing management information requirements under the Management Information Control System. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources, Business, or Procurement. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Capacity ManagementCommunicationsManages and Organizes InformationTeaching Others Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
