Duties
You will serve as an IT Specialist in the Information Assurance Division, Information Technology Department of the SUPSHIP GULF COAST.
You will serve as Software Developer on systems managed and co-managed by SUPSHIP GULF COAST (SSGC).
You will provide Technical expertise in Microsoft Power Platform development.
You will have an understand SharePoint sites and their components such as lists, content types, webparts and workflows.
You will have a complete understanding of Microsoft 365 environment.
You will provide technical expertise in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
You will test builds prior to placing into production and provides operational deployment, support, ongoing maintenance and customizations as authorized.
You will determine the feasibility of installations and modifications, and schedules implementation to ensure continuity of operations.
You will schedule, monitor and verify the integrity of server/soft ware patches as it relates to impact on custom soft ware/system applications and mission functions.
You will configure system components such as servers, workstations, printers and other authorized peripherals needed to support the assigned systems.
You will provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies, procedures and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 621-Software Developer level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to certify in ISC2 Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) certification within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to train in vendor-approved software developer tools applicable to assigned
systems within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position may be designated as "essential personnel" for disaster preparedness purposes.
Qualifications
For the GS-12 Grade Level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise in software applications development (i.e., Microsoft Power Platform development, SharePoint sites and their components (e.g., content types, webparts, and workflows), and Microsoft 365 environment). Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
For the GS-11 Grade Level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: supporting software applications development (i.e., Microsoft Power Platform development, SharePoint sites and their components (e.g., content types, webparts, and workflows), and Microsoft 365 environment). Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
Education may be used to substitute for the specialized experience statement for the following grade level only:
GS-11 Grade Level:
- successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; -OR-
- successful completion of 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
