About the Position: Serve as an Operations Research Analyst in an independent analytical capacity with responsibility for a wide variety of assignments for USASMDC on Redstone Arsenal.
This is a pay banded position. The NH-03 encompasses grades 12 and 13 on the General Schedule
Duties
Study current technical literature, attend professional symposia and maintain professional correspondence.
Draft memoranda, letters, and messages to support studies.
Complete the research process from defining problems through validating findings.
Exercise technical responsibility for publishing reports relating to specific analysis accomplishment and for the exhaustive interpretation of these results.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08) upon entering the position
and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and
Technical Management Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Tentatively selected applicants will be
required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experienc requirements described below. Basic Education Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Note: You must submit a copy of your transcript.
In addition to the education requirement, to qualify your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Analyzing mission requirements to determine operational metrics of major weapon systems; 2) Developing operational metrics to support program management needs and 3) Maintaining program office operational metrics to meet the organization mission. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11) position in the federal service.
