About the Position: This position is an Operations Research Analyst within US Army Aviation and Missile Command G8 Resource Management office.
Duties
Provide professional knowledge of operations research techniques for the development of new cost methods, adjustment and application of existing cost estimating methods to unusual applications.
Address the requirements on application of cost analysis operations research methods, practices, and techniques to aviation system assessment and evaluations.
Recover on cost estimates and provide and defend these estimates to higher authority, aviation systems that are of major importance to the Army.
Serve as a consultant to Directors/Division Chiefs of AMCOM and other activities providing expert guidance involving the analysis of complex issues related to the resource management of aviation and missile systems and/or operational concepts.
Develop documentation to convey study results in operations terms to ensure results are communicated to decision makers.
Oversee team efforts and provides broad expertise for cost and financial studies that address specific problem areas that are of special concern provide recommendations to higher headquarters.
Explain cost and financial reports requiring interpretation to stakeholders.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance during the duration of employment.
- This position requires 10% Temporary Duty Travel. Occasional travel may be expected up to 10% of the time for this position.

Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: : (1) master knowledge of advanced principles and practices of operations research to investigate and provide expert technical advice on the technical and operational Cost Analyst, cost estimating, decision risk analysis, trade-off analysis, resource analysis, sensitivity analysis and other analysis supporting a broad range of Weapon or aviation systems throughout the entire life cycle; (2) performing all phases of overall life cycle cost analysis and economic analysis functions such as cost modeling, development of cost estimating methodologies and their application and estimating cost of major weapon or aviation systems.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
