You will serve as an EDUCATION TECHNICIAN in the NAVY VOLUNTARY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT of NETPDC.

Duties

You will coordinate and schedule meetings for visitors with their Admissions Counselors and other Admissions personnel. You will correct discrepancies in student files for accurate record maintenance. You will compile information or educational material in support of an education program. You will answer inquiries of general nature regarding training to students, instructors, and other staff members. You will communicate with other organizations to resolve problems or concerns.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

For GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical and administrative support to staff while analyzing and interpreting federal directives and policies in support of an educational program; 2) Utilizing automated software systems such as Microsoft Office Suite to create, edit, and distribute correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, and presentations; and 3) Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, in addition to working independently and as part of a team. For GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical and administrative support to staff; 2) Utilizing automated software systems such as Microsoft Office Suite to create documents and reports; and 3) Communicating effectively verbally and in writing. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For GS-05 only
Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
