Duties

You will serve as the first line supervisor for approximately seven attorneys practicing predominantly in contract law, fiscal law and ethics. You will be called upon to manage the resolution of issues in the full range of Office of the General Counsel (OGC) practice areas. You will plan and prepare performance plan covering work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

This vacancy will be filled at the NM-05 (GS-15 equivalent) level, which encompasses the salary range equivalent of GS-14 through GS-15. To be eligible for selection, applicants must have at least five and a half years of successful, relevant legal experience in one or more of the practice areas identified above. Experience in acquisition/contract law is required. 1) Depth, breadth and quality of relevant legal experience in acquisition/contract law; 2) Ability to supervise or manage people; 3) Reseach, analytical, and writing skills; and 4) Oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective relationships, to work effectively with senior military and civilian clients, and to work as part of a team. In addition, the supervisor will also be called upon to manage the resolution of issues in the full range of Office of the General Counsel (OGC) practice areas including the Freedom of Information Act, environmental law, intellectual property law and the review of non-FAR based agreements including, but not limited to, Other Transactions, Cooperative Research and Development Agreements, and Partnership Intermediary Agreements. Education

The incumbent must have graduated from a law school that is accredited by the American Bar
Association, be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S.
Commonwealth, U.S territory, or the District of Columbia, and be admitted to practice before a
state or federal court.
