The primary purpose of this position is to provide the services of a professional intelligence analyst to enable Air Force Technical Operations Center time-dominant operations for surveillance of nuclear and tactical problem sets.
Duties
DUTY 1: Performs analysis on events and signatures of interest.
DUTY 2: Interprets national and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements and requirements systems.
DUTY 3: Develop and execute surveillance Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) concepts, tactics, techniques and procedures.
DUTY 4: Serves as a subject matter expert at briefings.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to report on and make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies, of intelligence analysis and research to include database manipulation, and experienced with data entry and use for multiple ISR community programs and data standards. Knowledge of the interplay of geographic, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world, as threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and U.S. recourse. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in analysis and production of reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers to include formalizing, gathering, organizing and analyzing information; resolving conflicts, and presenting clear and concise findings to AFTAC, Air Force, DoD and national-level agencies.
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies, of intelligence analysis and research to include database manipulation, and experienced with data entry and use for multiple ISR community programs and data standards such as TALLON-THRESHER, FADE-MIST, GRAPEVINE, ArcGIS-ESRI, Intelink, etc.
Knowledge of the interplay of geographic, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world, as threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and U.S. recourse.
Ability to communicate both orally, and in writing, in a clear and accurate fashion. Ability to effectively communicate results of intelligence research, and determine and communicate mission risk concerns.
Knowledge of IC policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research and operations planning, collection target analysis, and/or other intelligence related activities. Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified information.
Knowledge in creating and maintaining: operations position training, tactics, plans, procedures, mission planning, and OPLANs.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs.
