You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the ENGINE COMPANY DIVISION of MCAS CHERRY POINT.
Duties
You will work closely with supervisory firefighters on the opposite platoon.
You will make a thorough inspection and evaluation of conditions.
You will assume the position of incident commander at all emergencies/incidents until relieved.
You will determine, initiate, and maintain proper medical care for victims.
You will respond and provide supervision as an integral member of a hazardous material team at the hazardous material technician level.
You will collect and interpret hazard and response information from resources.
You will conduct incident debriefings, incident critique and provide reports and documentation for incident events.
You will assure work assignments are completed by firefighters, driver/operators, and emergency dispatch operator.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

- This position requires rotating shift work.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise, leadership, and training in fire protection efforts; assigning work requirements; directing firefighting operations; implementing plans and programs; and providing direction and instructions during emergency incidents.
