About the Position: Serves as an Administrative Support Assistant with Office Automation duties at multiple locations to include the duty location of the Dredge Potter Vessel. This position will be located in St. Louis, MO and will allow for situational telework only. This position is NOT eligible for full time telework.

Duties

Prepare request for personnel actions for actions such as recruitment, reassignments, change in work schedules, leave without pay, and/or etc. Facilitate purchasing for the servicing organization. Maintain personnel documents for supervisor(s), ensuring employees confidentiality and PII information is maintained. Serve as a liaison between an organization and Finance Office to relay pertain information and ensure and/or ensure data is processed correctly. Prepare personnel information for budgetary and/or special reporting requirements. Knowledge of the Project Office organization, functions, civilian pay policies, regulations, and/or labor agreements to ensure proper pay for employees. Provide advice and guidance on administrative and/or management support functions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires mandatory overtime.
  • Annual TDY is expected at 50% or more. Must be able to travel frequently and perform normal duty at alternate TDY locations.
  • Position requires a fully qualified typist (40wpm).
  • Must wear uniforms prescribed by Corps of Engineers.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government motor vehicle operator's license.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Minimum Qualifications GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 or equivalent level in the Federal service. This experience is defined as: providing administrative support to an organization, preparing data in automated system pertaining to time/attendance, office equipment, travel, records management, personnel and/or purchase card, and assisting with all request and/or correspondence for submission to Human Resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
