Duties
This position provides administrative support to two groups within the Technical Service Center - Construction Management & Specifications and Waterway & Concrete Dams #2.
The duties of the position are listed below:
Performs a variety of management functions including electronic time and attendance, personnel actions, travel, training, purchasing, and project management.
Composes correspondence on routine and occasionally non-routine administrative matters and light technical subjects. Formats and edits technical reports to agency specifications.
Refers technical inquiries to the appropriate individual.
Assists individuals in the office with finding correct forms or contacts to complete routine and non-routine office tasks.

Qualifications
Qualification Requirements: In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized work experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
GS-05 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level. To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows: Performed office administration practices including tracked time and attendance for staff, office equipment, property and budget; Monitored and supported the training needs of staff; Established general office procedures such as assisted the group manager in tracking mandatory training needs and kept track of both project and personnel files.
GS-06 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level. Served as a personal assistant to a manager and independently managed technical and administrative services for the office; Edit and format formal reports, resolved problems, located information, and organized workflow within the office.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires applicants be able to type 40 words per minute.

Education
This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience at the GS-5 level.
