About the Position: Serves as the Training Specialist (BOLC) for 428th Field Artillery Brigade at Fort Sill, OK. Incumbent independently applies a thorough knowledge of administrative and training principles, techniques and practices to implement the full range of the training course. Incumbent participates substantially in course development and/or modification.

Duties

Serve as the Training Instructor for (BOLC) for the 1st Battalion, and 30th Field Artillery, and 428th Field Artillery Brigade. Providing technical expertise for course training materials. Conduct oversight of instructors and provide technical assistance. Conduct evaluations to assess job performance of instructors. Provide oversight of the Program of Instructions (POI) and its revisions. Incorporate updates to course management plans and lesson plans. Collect and Analyze updates to technical materials and training requirements. Provide training to instructors on changes in instructional methods, new equipment and inconsistencies. Conduct classroom and live fire exercises when required.

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: 1)Conduct Basic Officer Leader Course, that includes updating lesson plans, examinations, trainer scenarios, practical exercises, and student handouts, training in self-contained module ) Evaluate training results; 3) Review training materials for BOLC Individual Training Course; 4) Research changes in applicable subject matter field that will impact training elements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Curriculum DevelopmentEducation / Training Program AdministrationInstructional Delivery and Learner DevelopmentInstructor Assessment Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
