As a Human Resources Assistant at the GS-0203-8, you will be part of Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will provide high level operational support and administrative services located in the Operations Services Division (OSD), Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Duties
Provide advice to Human Resources Specialist, Headquarters managers and District Resource Managers on procedures for processing personnel actions and
special program updates.
Conduct new employee orientation, explain eligibility requirements, waiting periods and responds to a wide variety of employee inquiries on aspects of
employee benefits typically to employees new to federal employment.
Complete SF-52s (Request for Personnel Actions) to ensure that actions are coded and processed in FPPS and ensures compliance with the
Guide to Processing Personnel Actions.
Conduct studies to gather information on HR related topics and recommends solutions to the supervisor and/or Senior HR Specialists.

Qualifications
For the GS-8: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service independently performing following duties: Process a wide range of personnel actions (e.g., appointments, reassignments, promotions, separation, etc.); Direct and monitor the maintenance and organization of the electronic Official Personnel Files (eOPFs), electronic Employee Performance Files (EPFs) and merit promotion and case examining case files; Knowledge of legal, regulatory and procedural aspects of programs relating to civilian and/or military human resources management. Experience which requires the candidate to analyze problems and communicate effectively with others. Provides technical guidance and procedural assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees in executing a variety of employee benefits programs, which may include workers' compensation, retirement, health and life benefits, Thrift Savings Program (TSP), etc.
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-8level.
