This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Operations, Assistant Commandant for Intelligence & Criminal Investigations, Coast Guard Cryptologic Group (CGCG), Ft. Meade, MD.

Duties

You will serve as an Intelligence Operations Specialist with the CGCG at the National Security Agency (NSA), Ft. Meade, Maryland. You will serve as the CGCG’s Staff Advisor and subject matter expert for Cryptology/SIGINT, addressing a wide variety of issues pertaining to the compliance, application and integration of Coast Guard SIGNIT/cryptology capabilities, requirements, and policies within the NSA.Typical work assignments include:

• Must be able to complete a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
• A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

• A Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph is required.

Qualifications

At the GS-14 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work such as:  Providing broad strategic and operational guidance to advance and sustain cryptologic near, mid, and long-range objectives. Participating in complex engagement and forecasting for appropriate resourcing, capabilities, training, and manning levels and champions DoD and the intelligence community. Initiating, managing, and evaluating complex and sensitive projects, programs, and activities. Developing, projecting and revising long-range estimates within the intelligence infrastructure. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
