You will serve as a Custodial Worker (Sacristan) in the Chapel of NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will sweep, vacuum, and pick up loose paper as necessary between religious services.
You will make minor repairs to building and furniture.
You will prepare Chapel to support various religious services and special events.
You will open and lock the Main Chapel building at the appointed hours.
You will be trained on the job to operate the Chapel sound system. You will operate the sound system in support of chapel events.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Cleans washrooms and toilets. 3. Makes minor repairs to building and furniture. 4. Prepares for events including the lighting of candles, changing altar hangings, changing linens, and arranging liturgical equipment for religious services.

PHYSICAL EFFORT. Employee must be able to carry objects of varying weights, shapes and sizes, and use floor cleaning equipment. There may be times when the Sacristan will be expected to climb onto the dome catwalk, or onto the dome to observe a problem or clean after a storm, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS. Working conditions are normal for an inside environment. All work is done inside the Chapel building with the exception of daily policing the grounds around the chapel, shoveling snow from the chapel steps and walks when required, and depositing trash outside at the rear of the building each day.
