Duties
You will apply mathematical, statistical, economic, and engineering methods to generate life cycle cost estimates for major system acquisition programs and develop cost models.
You will leverage data, data analytics, and uncertainty analysis tools.
You will participate in collecting, normalizing, analyzing data efforts in support of program reviews.
You will analyze cost, technical and schedule dimensions for decision makers.
You will apply inflation and escalation techniques.
You will prepare independent cost estimates and assessments of acquisition programs.
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely performance of high quality work products.
You will participate in studies to improve methodologies for estimating life cycle costs across all commodities.
You will lead projects independently or in teams.
Requirements

Qualifications
GS-14:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting data collection and analysis, risk analysis, sensitivity analysis and Earned Value Management (EVM); preparing statistical analysis, regression analysis, econometrics, and other analytical techniques appropriate to the preparation of cost estimates and the development of cost models
GS-13:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting cost analyses and prepare cost estimates; validating accuracy and relevance in cost estimates and assessments; applying quantitative techniques and methodologies to cost data and cost models.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess one of the following:
- A bachelor's or higher degree in operations research. OR
- A bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
