This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD). CWMD's mission is to develop strategies to protect the country from threats.
Serves as Senior Intelligence Officer, responsible for ensuring the effective execution of intelligence functions and activities to include coaching and mentoring branch staff in the practice of intelligence analysis, coordination, and integration.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-15, your typical work assignments may include:
Plans and oversees the preparation of intelligence assessments in various formats, serves quick-reaction requests, and maintains current briefings in the area of regionalized Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) capabilities and threat assessment.
Fosters continuous contacts with counterparts within DHS and the other Federal agencies and organizations to ensure awareness of new or redirected programs impacted by assigned subject area.
Assists senior leadership in translating strategic vision into achievable parts, sequenced in order to maximize effectiveness and ensure completion.
Serves as the external continuity for coordination and integration with the DHS Intelligence Enterprise and Intelligence Community peer organizations.
Responsible for conducting reviews of subordinate analyst's work for compliance with Intelligence Community standards.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Authoring threat analysis to recommend solutions to diminish threats, crises and/or attacks;
Coordinating intelligence operations with various organizations to ensure effective exchange of information;
Utilizing intelligence expertise to advise on intelligence policies, programs and/or procedures; and
Delivering presentations and briefings to senior leaders regarding current threat events, capabilities, and technology.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
