This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Santa Ana National Disaster Loan Resolution Center in Santa Ana, CA. Incumbent serves as a Loan Servicing Assistant and is responsible for assisting Loan Specialists in servicing or liquidating a full range of disaster business and home loans.
Duties
Analyzes financial statements of SBA disaster loans, which are considered potential problems; compares present with previous statements to determine trends in financial conditions and compliance with loan terms and conditions; and follows up with borrower or bank on any serious violations noted.
Initiates and signs as recommending official actions including charge-off, deferment, due date change, extension of maturity, payment modification, return to servicing, referral to liquidation.
Answers verbal and written requests from banks and borrowers and other financial institutions concerning payments on loans, interest rates, loan balances, terms conditions, and other credit information; is mindful of Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts when responding to such requests.
Prepares and mails a variety of correspondences: payoff demand letters; the requirements letters for workouts, offer in compromise, release of lien, subordination, substitution of collateral, assumption.

Qualifications
GS-7: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: work with residential and commercial loan programs and their collateral requirements; financial analysis of both personal and business documents to determine eligibility; analyze economic conditions and trends to enable proper collection and liquidation recommendations.
