This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Office of Base Operations, Naval Engineering Department (IPF), Mobile, AL.
Duties
This position primary purpose is to apply a variety of trade practices within an Industrial Production Facility maintenance environment. The selectee is expected to perform duties of a Painter and will equally perform duties of a Welding Worker on lower journeyman levels.
Requirements
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- This is a night shift position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
Practices in Construction, Structure.
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic).
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (Screen-out Element).
Ability to interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (other than blueprint reading).
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
Knowledge of materials.
Dexterity and safety.
