This position is placed the Security and Counterintelligence Department (OI-MSC).

Duties

This position may be filled at either GG-11 or GG-12 grade level, please indicate the grade for which you want to be considered. Incumbent may be advanced non-competitively to the established target grade upon meeting developmental benchmarks, performance requirements, and other requirements, as applicable established for the career program or specifically for the incumbent. As an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.

  • Must be a certified graduate from DCAC or Service School as a Counterintelligence Special Agent in order to possess DTRA CI Badge and Credentials.

Qualifications

The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened from the Office of Personnel Management's (OPMs) basic qualifications requirements. See: Intelligence Series 0132 (opm.gov) for OPM qualification standards, competencies and specialized experience needed to perform the duties of the position as described in the MAJOR DUTIES and QUALIFICATIONS sections of this announcement by 09/05/2023. Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience planning, preparing and conducting counterintelligence and force protection briefings. Experience conducting research and analysis on matters of counterintelligence or force protection concern. Experience conducting CI and Force Protection assessments. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-11 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience assisting with planning, preparing and conducting counterintelligence and force protection briefings. Experience assisting with research and analysis on matters of counterintelligence or force protection concern. Experience assisting with CI and Force Protection assessments. Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for the GG-12 grade level.

If substituting education for experience at the GG-11 level, you must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.M., if related.

If substituting or combining education for experience, transcripts MUST be provided. Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.

Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions.
