This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This IT Specialist position is with the U.S. Army Communication Electronics Command (CECOM) INFO Systems Engineering Command. One vacancy- Selection may be filled at either Fort Huachuca, Arizona or Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, or Fort Detrick, Maryland, or Fort Belvoir, Virginia

Duties

Monitor the ongoing operation of a complex network environment with a large number of users in an installation/command ensures corrective action to restore operation actions and operational service. Prepare and proposes plans, concepts, and doctrine to ensure continuity in transition of new and existing DoD systems. Perform in-depth analysis of automated and manual systems related to networks and /or telecommunications to accomplish design goals. Serve as team leader responsible for the staff supervision of assigned, telecommunications systems, networks, projects and programs Provide technical planning and hardware/software engineering assistance to Information Management system user requiring communications/network support in the initial stages of project planning. Explore and evaluates technology concepts and advanced state of the art information/communication systems to meet future Army requirements. Develop guidelines for formulation of policy and life cycle control of Information management hardware/software in such areas as operation concepts; function analysis; interoperability analysis

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year probationary period may be required.

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position (Practitioner). Selectees must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty
  • Direct Deposit required.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time. Note: Travel will be to CONUS, OCONUS, and possible South West Asia (SWA).
  • Position requires you to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450. (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • Position meets the requirements for category 1 per DoDI 6205.02, July 23, 2019, and as such, unless otherwise directed, must meet all immunization requirements for identified overseas locations
  • This is a testing designated position. Personnel must pass a drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Specialized Experience In addition to meeting the basic requirement listed above ; To qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) 1)Implementing audio visual and video distribution system (AV/VDS) experience in regulatory requirements for complete system testing and security accreditation. AND 2) Applying knowledge and experience with using new and existing methods to solve multi-disciplinary integration problems involving state-of-the-art equipment audio visual equipment, classified networks, and leveraging enterprise capabilities. AND 3) Planning long-or short term organizational objectives.
