About the Position: This position is a member of the Army Family Advocacy Program (FAP) staff. Works as an intake team member and case manager.

Duties

Perform case management services in alleged and identified cases of child abuse /neglect or domestic abuse. Monitor treatment participation and progress with designated treatment providers. Maintain case records according to standards of professional practice and regulations. Gather collateral information through discussions with unit personnel, family members, record review, or other sources.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • May be required to work split shifts or rotating shifts as mission requires.
  • Required to be screen for applicable immunizations.
  • A Criminal History Background Check (CHBC) is required; must obtain and maintain a favorable result from a CHBC as a condition of employment.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting to identify needs and appropriate service to a variety of specific problems in a wide range of suspected child abuse and neglect or adult/intimate partner abuse and neglect cases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone, no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailCustomer ServiceReasoningTeamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
